This is the blog of Linda Oakes. I’m an observer of Nature in the Midwest, and express my observations mostly in writing. I began to draw when I was 3, and at 4 I learned to read. By the age of 5, I wanted to write and illustrate my own books. In my mid-teens, I fell in love with Botany. Around the same time, I began keeping a journal. Over the years, I have worked as a field botanist and as a botanical illustrator. I’m currently studying library technology. And I am always writing.
